Ones to Watch!

Of all the recent films to have come out in 2010 I have selected a couple that so far have been worth a look.

A couple who is expecting their first child travel around the U.S. in order to find a perfect place to start their family. Along the way, they have misadventures and find fresh connections with an assortment of relatives and old friends who just might help them discover "home" on their own terms for the first time.

Ok, so not the best synopsis for a film and one that might put you off such a film but trust me, it is almost the prefect film. It has everything that one wants - Comedy, romance, drama and most importantly story.

I was hooked from beginning to end and Sam mendes (director) once again shows that film doesn't need big budgets or huge stars to make a great film.

In 1987, obese, illiterate, black 16-year-old Claireece "Precious" Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) lives in the New York City neighbourhood of Harlem with her dysfunctional family; she has been raped and impregnated twice by her father, Carl, and suffers constant physical and mental abuse from her unemployed mother, Mary (Mo'Nique).

Precious is a film that I didn't think that I would enjoy as much as I did. I use the word "enjoy" quite loosely as at times it is not easy to watch. Precious lives in a world that would be any child's nightmare coupled by an award winning performance by Mo'Nique (mother of Precious), the film will have you instantly hooked and waiting for a happy ending that may or may never come. This is one
film that had the potential to be amazing however left me concluding it was
very good.
